I'm Ames, the owner and chief photographer at Ames Studios! As an Atlanta based photographer with over twelve years of experience shooting portraiture and events, it would be my honor to tell your story. 

 

    I prioritize connecting with my subjects and helping you feel comfortable in front of the camera. With a little coaching, even the most camera-shy person can have a portrait that represents their unique personality. My career began in New York City, where I was a newborn and nightlife photographer. I also produced and performed stand-up comedy all over the city.

 

    As a model in the Vice trans stock photo library and the 2019 Pride campaign for Saks X Stonewall Gives Back, I know what it feels like to be in front of the camera. As the 2022 recipient of a Campaign for Southern Equality grant for the Trans Headshot Project.

 

 I am dedicated to inclusivity. I am a member of the queer community and I know that representation matters. I celebrate and photograph all individuals and all families: everyone is beautiful, of all races, gender identities, sexualities, cultures, religions, bodies, and abilities.
