Newborn Session
Frequently Asked Questions

How soon should I book my session?

Most families schedule their session during the 2nd trimester! In order to adjust a session date if a baby arrives early or fashionably late, I only book a limited number of newborn sessions per month. As your due date approaches, I will check in with you.

If your baby has already arrived and you want to book a session, send me a message! I recognize that there is a lot to prepare for when expecting, so I will do my very best to accomodate last minute sessions!

What is the ideal timeframe for a newborn session?

The ideal time is between 5-14 days after birth while they are very sleepy and pose-able. I have experience photographing "older newborns", so in the event that a medical reason delays the session past the ideal timeframe, there is no reason to worry!

What health and safety precautions are taken during a newborn session?

In order to fully clean and sanitize all fabric, props and equipment, I only photograph one newborn per day. When I arrive, I remove my shoes and wear a face mask on for the entire duration I am in your home. I will also be washing my hands and using sanitizer throughout the shoot.

Where do the newborn sessions take place?

Sit back and relax...because I bring the studio to you! I bring my portable equipment and lighting, backdrops, wraps and props! I have worked in homes and apartments of all sizes and don't require much space.

why does the session last so long?

A newborn session takes patience! Some babies sleep through the entire session, while others need multiple breaks to feed. I take my time soothing and calming the baby. I promise it will be worth it!
